Is the Jeep Recon a true off-roader or Just a rebadged SUV?

I love the idea of the Jeep Recon, but my biggest concern is whether it will actually live up to Jeep’s off-road reputation or if it’s just a rebranded crossover.

1. Will it have true trail-rated capability, or is it more of a city SUV?
2. Jeep needs to compete with the 4Runner and Lexus GX, but does the Recon have what it takes?
3. Really hoping this isn’t just a rebadged Fiat or another soft-roader with Jeep branding.

What do you think? will the Recon be a legitimate off-roader, or is Jeep watering down the brand?

There are definitely mixed opinions about the off-road capabiliteis of newer Jeep models, with some enthusiasts feeling that recent designs may not live up to the legendary off-road reputation the brand is known for. However, there's still a strong consenssus that Jeep remains one of the top contenders in off-road performance, with many praising its history of rugged, capable vehicles.

To me, the Recon looks promising. I like the design and the removable doors. But I still wonder if it will stand on the roads or be only a good-looking car for city drivers.

I don't know. But knowing the waterproofing allows for 30" water fording it impresses me. It beats most gas-powered competitors.
